We’re happy to announce a new way to benefit from managing your travel with TripIt – saving money on airfare! Now you can link Yapta’s popular airfare tracking service to your TripIt account and receive automatic alerts when you could be entitled to a refund or credit on your booked flights.
We’ve made it incredibly simple to make sure you don’t over-pay for your flights. Just link your TripIt account to Yapta here or by clicking the “Track for Refunds” button in your TripIt itinerary. Then, send all your flight bookings to plans@tripit.com as you normally do, and your flights will automatically be tracked by Yapta going forward. That’s it – no more searching, no more worrying about paying too much. We take care of everything, automatically.
We’re excited to offer TripIt users this opportunity to save money on airfare, and we hope our partnership with Yapta helps make life even easier for frequent travelers. Happy travels… and enjoy the savings!
Seems like a nice service, but shouldn't the price information come over from TripIt as well?

Well shiver me timbers. I put the price information in Yapta manually as reported yesterday, and today I was able to get $390 back across 2 itineraries! Great stuff!

I agree with Colin Z, it would be ideal if the price information came over from TripIt, since it's clearly in my itinerary.

Is there going to be a setting that will allow all future airfares to be tracked without having to click the "Track for refunds" button. I think this would be a nice plus.

what is yapta?
and why would they return money?

I don't get the Cash back part. Also, I just went to the Yapta homepage through the link above. I am planning on going to Los Angelas in May. The prices that came up for twice the price as I have been quoted from H.I.S., No. 1 Travel and a few others.

To Saurabh Ambekar's questions:
Yapta enables you to save money by tracking airfare prices BEFORE and AFTER you've booked your tickets. By tracking airfare prices before you buy, Yapta will alert you via email when the fare on a particular flight drops or falls within a desired spending limit. By tracking prices after you've booked your ticket (assuming you booked directly with the airline), Yapta will alert you when you're eligible for a travel credit from your airline. Most U.S. airlines have "guaranteed airfare" policies that enable you to claim a travel credit if the price of your flight becomes available for less. Not many people know that the policy even exists - nor do they bother to check the price of their ticket after purchasing it. To date, Yapta has alerted over 750,000 travelers to more than $250 million in savings.
