We’ll be blogging this month to tell frequent travelers about each of the core features in TripIt Pro. This week’s feature is Point Tracker.
Travel rewards programs like frequent flyer miles and hotel points are available everywhere these days, which is great for road warriors who deserve to earn perks for their repeat business. What isn’t so great is the challenge of keeping track of account numbers, point balances, expiration dates and other important information for lots of different accounts. At best, juggling all this information is inconvenient, and at worst, travelers can lose out on the benefits they’ve earned because it’s impossible to keep track of everything. TripIt Pro Point Tracker provides an easy solution to these problems.
Here is a summary of what you get with TripIt Pro Point Tracker…
All of your accounts in one place – Keep track of your frequent flyer, hotel and rental car programs and more, all in the one place.
Balance and activity summary – Get a convenient one-page summary of points available, points used, and recent activity for your accounts. Plus, see how close you are to elite status in your various programs.
Easy to update– If you join a new program or want to stop tracking a program you no longer use, it’s easy to keep your Point Tracker page up to date by adding and removing accounts.
Let TripIt Pro help you keep track of your travel accounts, so you get all the rewards you deserve. It’s easy to get started – just go to

If my partner manages all my loyalty accounts for me (she get's all the emails and manages my passwords already), do i need to buy 2 tripit pro subscriptions or just one?
(i get that i might want the pro subscription for myself, but i'm pretty sure i'm getting her one just for this feature)

any idea when point tracker might include Air New Zealand Airpoints, Qantas Frequent Flyer, and VirginBlue Velocity Rewards, amongst others, for international travel?

Where can I find out which programs are currently supported by Point Tracker? I am assuming Miles&More is? What about Air Berlin?

Good question. I too am looking for such a list of supported programs before making a decision.

Will Point Tracker automatically be sure to see that I receive travel points when TripIt Pro receives my flight and hotel e-mail confirmations or must the person who arranges my travel use my account numbers when making the reservations?

A list of the programs supported by Point Tracker is available here -

I am also wondering when TripIt might be more international with its programs to be supported by Point Tracker. Until then, will wait and see.

Bait and switch? I just signed up for TripIt Pro based on an email I received yesterday. In the email, I see an iPhone, the words "Point Tracker", and the price. I signed up to fork over the price, but don't see any new Point Tracker information on my iPhone.
Would it be too much to ask that an email directed at iPhone users would add extra features to an iPhone?
I figured that the app would have some added features for the four items listed in the email, and was especially excited to be able to get my reward plans and reward plan member numbers consolidated onto my iPhone.
No dice. This feels like a bait and switch.
Of course, it's great to have the Point Tracker in a browser, but to list it on an ad targeted to iPhone users feels disingenuous.
I currently carry a print out of an excel spreadsheet with my plan names and plan numbers. It sure would be nice to have that list available to me when I check into a hotel.
Automating it would be great, but as a software developer, I realize that could be tough. I'd settle for having the number handy as I checked in for a flight or a hotel. That semi-automated "cheat sheet" is a great hel.

Hi Michael,
Our apologies for any confusion caused by our email. As you noticed, our free iPhone app doesn't yet support point tracker, but we have plans to add it to TripIt for iPhone very soon. Thanks for your patience, and your feedback.

I need help. I just started a new job as EA to an executive. I will manage his TripIt account under his name. I'm trying to add accounts and continue to get exclamation marks after waiting for a long period on "we are updating your account activity" I assume the account number asked is the Mileage / Program Number and the PIN number is a PW? I cannot update old accounts or add new accounts. I'm I correct to say, if the carrier is not a partner with TripIt, I need to manually add the account and information in? I'm confused, help please!!! Thank you!!!

Do you confirm that Miles & More is in?

Now that Southwest has moved to a more traditional Points based Frequesnt Flyer scheme, how about TripIt adding them to TripIt Points?
