Travel Guard did not cover cancellation of a trip to Mexico at the time the GOVERNMENT was warning travelers not to go there (early May)--according to them, not a valid reason to cancel. Lost alot of money.

Brian

Elaine, you should have taken the cancel any reason coverage. A travel advisory is just that an advisory.

Juno A.

Be aware: many health insurance plans give you coverage when you are out of the US, but your out of network dedactable may apply. Travel Guard will not reimburst you for the dedactable amount - see page 10 of their policy. In my case it is $2,500
That was confirmed by their representative.

James Morgan - Puritan Financial Advisor

The most common types of claims filed with travel insurance are trip cancellation or travel delay, and medical claims. Since you never know what could happen while you’re traveling, Travel Guard plans include a wide range of coverage, including medical expense and evacuation, trip cancellation, interruption and delay, lost, stolen and delayed baggage, and 24/7 emergency travel assistance.
